Bra Science: How Band Size Changes with Cup Size - Cleo by Panache

Just when  you thought bra fitting couldn't get any more complicated, it turns out that a 30 often isn't the same as a 30. It's commonly known that people with larger cup sizes tend to choose smaller bands over those with smaller cup sizes. But is this an organic decision or influenced by changing band lengths with cup sizes? I collected Bratabase data on the stretched and unstretched band lengths in a couple of band sizes of Cleo bras - the ones with the most data. The results were pretty interesting! The title is self-explanatory - this chart details Cleo's stretched band lengths. As you can see, from D-G the bands are fairly consistent. The 28s stretch to just a little over 28", the 30s stretch to a little over 30", and the 32s hover around a little over 32". All seems to be pretty normal. But then we reach the GG. The G to GG jump is known to be a place where lots of brands change scaling, cup construction and other aspects of a bra. The stretched ban...

Take a Bow - Cleo Della Review in 28G

I so wanted this bra to work. After the unprecedented success of Cleo Blake, I've been super willing to try more Cleos. Sadly, it just wasn't to be. I ordered this bra from Lingerie Outlet Store on Amazon for £19.90. Unfortunately, the bow fell off immediately as I put the bra on. Upon closer inspection I couldn't find any loose threads in the gore, and the threads on the bow were messy, so this was a manufacturing error rather than the bra getting damaged in transport. I contacted them the seller, and after asking for photographic proof, they offered me a 30% discount or a refund. I opted for the refund, based on how the bra doesn't fit. Design: I think this bra looks super cool -  I love the black wire channels. The bow really lifts the design, and the surprisingly sheer fabric makes the flowers stand out a lot. I just wish the pattern was carried onto the back as it's just a plain, boring (but slightly sheer) black. Construction: Aside from the bow, this bra is w...

Disappointing Beauty - Cleo Piper Review in 28H

I feel like The Rock adequately sums up my feelings about this bra. I've waited for this bra for 9 months. That's how long it takes for a human to be made. From its first preview in Bras and Body Image's Cleo AW16 Preview post , my eye was caught. I must have this bra, I thought to myself. 9 months later and sadly, it was not to be. An admirable effort on Cleo's part - an unpadded longline up to a J cup? Brilliant, sign me up! Sadly it only goes up to an H cup in 28 bands but it's more than most longlines which tend to top out at G. I bought this from Bravissimo at a price of £30, though it is stocked in tons of places. Design: I usually think bows on bras are kind of overdone, but the colour makes this one stand out. I love how this bra looks. The cobalt blue will always be a favourite of mine, and I love the lime green accents. Sorry for the soft focus on this one! My phone (yes I take these pics with my phone) wasn't cooperating that day... I adore the lace t...

Uplifted & Round - the Beautiful Cleo Blake Review in 28G

It's no secret: I love this bra. It fits great  - not perfectly, but that's to be expected -, gives me a really nice shape and I adore the aesthetic. I find myself reaching for it more often than all but one of my bras (and that's only because my Ewa Michalak CH Karmelki has a delightfully snug band). Cleo is a staple for the fuller bust crowd who want a more youthful aesthetic than a lot of brands have on offer. Add in the narrow wires, projection and immediate depth common in their unpadded bras and you basically have a match made in heaven for me! I just wish they made 26s... I snagged this off Poinsettia for £23 shipped which was a nice discount from its £28-£30 RRP (I'm all about discounts). I ordered the only colour available at the time, a bright pink described as cerise. After reading Big Cup's review I expected a more muted colour bra, perhaps a little reddish, and a bra without much immediate depth, potentially clashing with my shape and also being quite...
